Writing from home is a legitimate business which can work for anybody.

No matter what your experience or your ability there are a number of effective ways of getting started which are affordable and dont require much in the way of setup.

When your writing business grows it is recommended that you get your own website but to start with all you really need is email and a willingness to succeed.

There are lots of ways to get started, here are a few to help you along:

1. Freelance - There are number of sites where people advertise for someone write for them. Check Out About.com and WritersWeekly to start.


2. Ghost Writer Services - Some sites offer a service where they offer to write articles for webmasters (Just Articles and The Phantom Writers are good examples). You could join their writing team. Simply send them an email along with an example of your work and politely ask if you can be included in their writing pool.


3. Private Label Articles - Lots of website owners are looking for some one to provide them a series of articles on a niche subject. They then modify the copy and publish in their own name. These private label articles are usually sold 10 or more at a time. Simply write 10 - 15 articles of 400 to 600 words in length on your favourite subject. Make sure each one is focussed around specific keywords with a density of about 2%. Then visit a few forums and offer to sell the bundle to a limited number of people (30 maximum). Once they are sold write another batch and repeat.


4. E-books - Take your favourite subject or better still find a subject that is regularly discussed in forums. Write a short report on the subject, say 25 - 30 pages of informative and genuinely interesting material, then turn it into a PDF. You can now offer this for sale in forums, on bulletin boards, in traffic exchanges, Ebay or in a program like Clickbank. Typically each ebook sells for $20 - $40.
